Pacers Trade Williams for Askew

Indiana forward Reggie Williams was traded to the New Jersey Nets for forward Vincent Askew, the Pacers announced.
The 6-foot-7 Williams was acquired by the Pacers from Denver in June along with Jalen Rose and No. 10 draft pick Erick Dampier. The 6-6 Askew had been with Seattle for the past three seasons before being traded to the Nets in July.

The Atlanta Hawks put forward Ken Norman on the injured list because of a strained lower back. He was replaced on the roster by guard-forward Willie Burton, cut before the season by the Hawks. . . . Charlotte Hornet forward Anthony Mason was fined $250 and sentenced to 120 hours of community service after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct in connection with a July 24 parking-dispute scuffle with New York police.
