Alyson MacIntosh
SCHOOL: Ventura
SPORT: Cross-country
YEAR: Senior
SEASON AT A GLANCE: MacIntosh has posted consecutive victories after placing second, third or fourth in her first four races. She defeated highly regarded Robin Scott, a San Marcos sophomore, to win the second Channel League meet Oct. 16. She followed that with an upset victory in the Ventura County championships at Lake Casitas in Ojai on Friday.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: MacIntosh clocked 18 minutes 23 seconds over the three-mile course to defeat Amanda Armstrong (18:37), a Thousand Oaks sophomore, and favorite Elaine Canchola (18:42), a Nordhoff junior. Her victory was the first by a Ventura runner in the 21-year history of the county championships. “She said she wanted to be the first senior in the race,” Ventura Coach Bill Tokar said. “But I don’t think she thought about winning.”
