- Share via
No. 11 NORCO (8-0) at No. 18 CORONA CENTENNIAL (7-1).
* When: Friday, 7:30 p.m.
* Coaches: Gary Campbell, Norco, 26th year; Ron Gueringer, Centennial, second year.
* The matchup: It’s the biggest game of the season in Riverside County, and a capacity crowd of 4,000 is expected to arrive early. Each team is 3-0 in the Southern Section’s Mountain View League, and the winner will have a favorable seeding in the Division IV playoffs. Centennial is 0-6 against Norco, but this could be its breakthrough season. The Huskies have outscored their opponents, 268-68. Centennial running back Damion Barton has rushed for 1,139 yards and 17 touchdowns, averaging nearly eight yards a carry. Norco, which won Division IV titles in 1992 and ‘93, is as strong as ever. Linebacker Todd Goodson and lineman David Duenas lead a defense that has given up 48 points.
