Houston Gets Liberty Bowl

The University of Houston announced it has accepted a bid to play in the Liberty Bowl, becoming the first team from Conference USA to participate in a bowl game.
The Cougars improved five games from last season as Coach Kim Helton turned around a team that went 2-9 in 1995.

Marshall athletic department officials said they were investigating a scuffle between record-setting wide receiver Randy Moss and his ex-girlfriend.
Coach Bob Pruett and athletic director Lance West said no decision had been made about whether disciplinary action would be taken against Moss.
