Celebrating its silver anniversary this Thursday is the Super Seminar, a gathering of wine fans that was originally created as an antidote to the football obsession that overtakes the country every year from early fall until its Super Bowl climax. Guests at Super Seminar XXV include Jim Clendenen of Au Bon Climat, Dan Duckhorn of Duckhorn Vineyards and Jack and Jamie Davies of Schramsberg. Among the highlights: talks, tastings and sneak previews of unreleased wines, including Duckhorn Vineyards’ new threat to Italy’s Super Tuscans. (Want a hint? It’s a Zinfandel blend).
7:15 p.m. Warner Center Marriott, 21850 Oxnard St., Woodland Hills. $33 for members of the Wine Assn. of the Duke of Bourbon; nonmembers, $37. Reservations required. Call Duke of Bourbon, (818) 341-1234.
