LAKERS TONIGHT
Opponent--Minnesota Timberwolves.
Site--Forum.
Time--6:30.
TV--Prime Sports West.
Radio--KLAC (570), KWKW (1330).
Records--Lakers 14-7, Timberwolves 7-11.
Record vs. Timberwolves--1-0.
Laker update--They have won four of five and nine of 13 and now head into a stretch in which only three of the next 13 opponents have a winning record. The Lakers already have held teams to less than 90 points in nine of the first 21 outings after doing it 15 times all last season.
Timberwolf update--Kevin Garnett will sit out his third consecutive game because of a sprained left ankle, as if playing the SuperSonics, Jazz, Lakers, Rockets and Bulls in a row isn’t enough. Doug West has taken Garnett’s spot as the starting small forward, giving the Timberwolves a three-guard lineup like the Lakers recently used. They were without point guard Stephon Marbury in the first visit to the Forum, a 91-85 loss Nov. 3.
