Yucca Valley 22, Cathedral 19--Junior Kevin Lesko, who took over quarterbacking duties a month ago, ran for two touchdowns and passed for a two-point conversion to lead the Trojans to the Southern Section Division XI title before 3,500 at Yucca Valley High.
The title was the first in football for Yucca Valley (8-6).
Lesko had touchdown runs of 16 and 13 yards, the second coming with 4:39 remaining to put Yucca Valley ahead, 20-19. He then completed a two-point conversion pass to Tim Foley.
Cathedral finished 12-2.
