Linea Loretta Bishop Salmen, a homemaker, died suddenly Friday at her home in Oak View. She was 46.
One of five children, Salmen was born in Los Angeles on Nov. 5, 1950.
Her brother, Eric Bishop of Berkeley, said Salmen was a devoted mother who did everything to make life better for her children. “Her children were her life,” he said.
Bishop said his sister became the family historian. “Linea collected photographs of our family. She had literally an archive of remembrances going back to my grandfather.”
In addition to Bishop, Salmen is survived by four children, Carlotta, Andrew, Travis and Heidi, all of Oak View; her mother, Ymelda Waller of Oak View; her father, Jack Bishop of Santa Fe, N.M.; a brother, Roland Bishop of San Diego; two sisters, Ymelda Kuyath of England and Celeste Tillman of Watsonville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held today at 12:30 p.m. at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura.
