Students at five schools in the Magnolia School District can receive free dental services today at Dr. Albert Schweitzer Elementary School.
The district is hosting a morning dental clinic for second- through sixth-grade students from Lord Baden-Powell, Walt Disney, Dr. Peter Marshall, Mattie Lou Maxwell and Dr. Albert Schweitzer elementary schools.
Local volunteer dentists will provide fillings and sealants and perform extractions. Cleanings are not part of the clinic.
Volunteers saw about 275 students at last year’s clinic and already have 215 students preregistered this year, Assistant Supt. Frances Jolly said.
“It’s a very successful program where we can serve many of our families and students,” Jolly said.
An April 12 dental clinic will offer services to students from the district’s remaining three schools.
The clinic runs from 8 a.m. until noon. Dr. Albert Schweitzer School is at 229 S. Dale Ave. Information: (714) 527-7761.
