Fruitful Advice

Re: “Orangutans in the Mist” (Jan. 19), the baby orangutan in the photograph is not eating lychees (also spelled litchis). It is eating rambutans.

Rambutans have thick, hair-like fiber on the outer skin. The fruit is also edible for people. Lychees have a rough, snakelike outer skin. I am from Malaysia, and I am familiar with the local fruits.
