Harley W. Snodgrass; Maintenance Foreman

Harley W. Snodgrass, a 36-year Ventura resident and retired county maintenance foreman, died Thursday in a local hospital after a long illness.

He was 73.

Snodgrass was born March 24, 1923, in Los Angeles and moved to Ventura County from Bakersfield.

He worked for Ventura County for 16 years, retiring as a maintenance foreman in 1975.

Snodgrass is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lena; one son, Ron of Ventura; two daughters, Jean and Barbara, both of Ventura; three sisters, Pat McKenzie and Barbara Scott of Clovis and Lois Painter of Ventura; two brothers, Bill of Sutter Creek and David of Fresno; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ivy Lawn Cemetery in Ventura, with Pastor Bill Gorrell of College Heights Baptist Church of Ventura officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
