North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake 47, San Diego University 40--The Wolverines, ranked No. 1 by The Times, got quite a scare from the undersized Dons before winning their second consecutive Division III regional final Saturday night at Cal State Fullerton.
Six-foot-10 twins, Jarron and Jason Collins once again led the way for Harvard-Westlake (32-1). Jason Collins scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Jarron scored 12 points.
University (23-5), with only one player taller than 6-5, trailed 41-40 with three minutes remaining in the game after a basket by Ron McMillan.
But Jason Collins scored a minute later and Rico Cabrera added a layup with 1:21 remaining to give the Wolverines a 45-40 lead.
Mac Clark led the Dons with 11 points.
