The Empire League opened play Tuesday. The rest of the county leagues begin Friday, highlighted by the Sunset duel between second-ranked Esperanza and Los Alamitos. Tonight Loara, which has beaten top-ranked Canyon and third-ranked El Dorado but was swept in a doubleheader by La Quinta on Wednesday--plays Century at 7 p.m. in Glover Stadium.
