Opponent--Seattle SuperSonics.
Site--KeyArena, Seattle.
Time--5.
TV--Channel 9, TNT.
Radio--KLAC (570).
Records--Lakers 48-23, SuperSonics 50-22.
Record vs. SuperSonics--2-1.
Laker update--They return from a four-day layoff with a game that could have major implications in determining the Pacific Division champion. The SuperSonics hold a 1 1/2-game lead, but a victory tonight will not only cut into that but also give the Lakers what could become the much-coveted tiebreaker. At stake over the final 11 games is not only the division title, but what will probably be the No. 2 spot in the West. Kobe Bryant, once in a shooting slump that knocked him out of the rotation, has recovered and is at a more respectable 44.7% the last seven games.
SuperSonic update--Shawn Kemp is scheduled to come off the bench for the second game in a row as part of the discipline for missing a flight and practice Saturday. The first was Sunday, when he had five rebounds, four fouls and three points in 22 minutes in a loss to the Suns.
