Biolase Technology Reports $2.5-Million Loss

SAN CLEMENTE — Biolase Technology Inc., a manufacturer of medical, dental and surgical products, reported a net loss of $2.5 million, or 21 cents a share, for 1996, compared with a loss of $2 million, or 21 cents a share, in 1995. Sales dropped 40% to $691,829 from $1.2 million. The fourth-quarter net loss totaled $787,291, or 6 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $593,912, or 5 cents a share, for the 1995 fourth quarter. Sales in the period more than doubled to $254,979 from $119,495.
