Woman Crossing Street Hit, Fatally Injured

A 65-year-old woman on her way to the market was struck and killed as she was crossing Michelson Drive near Angell Street, police said Tuesday.
The Irvine woman, whose name was withheld pending family notification, was in a crosswalk when a car struck her about 7:50 p.m. Monday, a police spokesman said. She died later at Irvine Medical Center.
The driver was not cited, and the investigation is continuing.
