“Weather Vane,” a 14-foot, cast bronze sculpture...

“Weather Vane,” a 14-foot, cast bronze sculpture by Dextra L. Frankel, professor emeritus of art at Cal State Fullerton, has been installed on the CSUF campus. Originally made for a private garden in Laguna Beach, the piece was donated and can be seen on the lawn between the campus library and the Performing Arts Center.

Lynn LaBate, curator at the Fullerton Museum Center, has been chosen by the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services to help evaluate grant applications. LaBate, appointed for an indefinite period, joins a group of 70 museum professionals around the country who collectively judge requests for funding. The IMLS, based in Washington, is the only federal source of support for museum operations and subsidizes work such as art restoration and preservation.
