Lancaster Reaches .500 Mark With 7-4 Victory

Miguel Correa led off the seventh inning with a solo home run and the Lancaster JetHawks went on to defeat the Modesto A’s, 7-4, on Saturday night in a California League game at John Thurman Stadium in Modesto.
Mike Martin and Joe Mathis had run-scoring singles in a four-run fourth inning for the JetHawks. Mathis had three hits.
Lancaster (18-18) climbed to within a half game of second-place Modesto (17-16) in the first-half race of the Valley Division in the Cal League.
Stockton (23-12) leads the Valley Division by five games over Modesto after being trounced, 7-0, by Bakersfield on Saturday night at Stockton.
Juan Bilone hit a home run in the second and Justin Bowles had two doubles for the A’s.
