Revenues for View Tech Rise 24% in 1st Quarter

View Tech Inc. in Camarillo announced that revenues for the first quarter ended March 31 increased nearly 24% to $10.01 million, compared with revenues of $8.10 million for the same period in 1996.

However, the company incurred a net loss of $439,009 or 7 cents per share, compared with net income of $201,583 or 3 cents per share for the same period in 1996.

Chief executive officer Robert G. Hatfield said the first-quarter loss primarily resulted from the continued costs of integrating USTeleCenters with the company, continued investment in the national sales organization, costs associated with the company’s change in its fiscal year-end and delays in certain system sales.

View Tech and Boston-based USTeleCenters provide voice, video and data equipment, network services and bundled telecommunications systems for businesses.
