Open House at Resource Center on Disabilities

The Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center will hold an open house from 3 to 7 p.m. on May 30 to celebrate the Koch-Young Family Resource Center’s third anniversary as a multimedia library and support center serving families and professionals who deal with developmental disabilities. The center collects materials in English, Spanish, Korean and Japanese.

A highlight of the afternoon will be a presentation by Barbara Saltzman, publisher of the best-selling “The Jester Has Lost His Jingle” and mother of the book’s late author, David Saltzman. The picture book illustrates the value of laughter during life’s hard times. There will also be tours, demonstrations of disability-related World Wide Web sites, educational presentations and refreshments.

The center is on the fourth floor at 3440 Wilshire Blvd. Validated parking is available in Central Plaza Parking on Mariposa. For information and to RSVP, call (800) 546-3676.
