Directors to Decide Fate of Museum

The board of directors of Oxnard’s Gull Wing Children’s Museum will meet May 29 to decide whether the private, nonprofit museum will have to permanently close because of a lack of operating funds.
“It’s not looking too good right now,” said Executive Director Doreen Lacy. “I’m at the point of tears. The open house we held Saturday went well, but we didn’t get saved. I guess I’d been hoping a couple of corporations would lend a hand.”
The museum, at 418 W. 4th St., opened eight years ago through efforts of local educators and children’s advocates.
