Sinay joined some select company after he shot a three-under 69 at Canyon Club in Palm Springs to win the Southern Section individual championship last week. Playing in 110-degree temperatures, Sinay became the first freshman since Torrance’s Ted Oh (1992) to win the title. Western’s Tiger Woods also won as a freshman in 1991.
Jon Alleman/Volleyball/Outside hitter
* Esperanza, senior. Led Aztecs to first Division I title, notching 33 kills in final against Simi Valley Royal and 35 in semifinals.
Ryan Moore/Tennis
* Servite, junior. Won the section individual singles title, defeating Santa Barbara’s Sam Adam Webster, 7-6, 6-1.
Marcus Skacel/Volleyball/Outside hitter
* Santa Margarita, junior. Had 19 kills to lead Eagles to first section title with three-game victory over Santa Barbara in Division II final.
