Ex-Parolee Suspected of Child Molestation

An Oxnard man with a record as a sex offender was in Ventura County Jail on Wednesday on suspicion that he molested a 4-year-old girl.
Salvador Ponce Ortiz, 39, was arrested late Tuesday a few hours after the girl’s parents notified authorities about the alleged attack, an Oxnard police spokesman said.
Oxnard Police Dets. Dave Klug and Chris Orsini responded to the call and later picked up Ponce, who police said is an ex-parolee and a registered sex offender.
