Ronnie Lane; Guitarist Co-Founded Small Faces Band

Ronnie Lane, 51, British rock guitarist who co-founded the 1960s group Small Faces. Lane and the late Steve Marriott formed the band in 1965 and achieved success with the hit songs “Itchycoo Park,” “Lazy Sunday” and “All or Nothing.” The mod music group broke up in 1969 after Marriott left, but reconstituted as the Faces with future superstar Rod Stewart. When Stewart left in 1971, Lane formed a third group called Slim Chances. His career as a full-time guitarist ended in the late 1970s when he was found to have multiple sclerosis.
