Dean Not Worried About Promotion
As the California League all-star break approaches, second baseman Chris Dean is trying not get his hopes up for a promotion to double A.
“I just have to go out and play and do the best I can do,” said Dean, who is hitting .344. “I can’t do anything about what [the Seattle Mariners] are going to do. I can’t worry about it.”
Dean, 23 and in his third season in the Cal League, would seem to be a prime candidate for promotion, particularly since no second baseman is doing that well at double-A Memphis.
“I’m just looking forward to having a good second half,” Dean said, “wherever I am.”
