Vigilante update--Since their 5-2 start to open the season, the Vigilantes have stumbled, losing eight of 11 going into Thursday’s game against Grays Harbor (Wash.). Through Thursday, catchers Eric Brooks and Carl Nichols lead the league in doubles with nine each. Brooks is also the league’s top hitter (.438), and Nichols is the league leader in runs scored (23).
Posse update--Tri-City entered Thursday’s game tied with Bend (Ore.) for third in the North Division. Despite a losing record, the Posse had the league’s best team ERA (3.95). Unfortunately, the Posse is last in team average (.220), has the fewest hits (127) and has scored the fewest runs (60). First baseman Graham Koonce is the leading hitter (.322).
