Ventura County Game Has a Different Look
Ventura County’s top graduating seniors will gather today at Moorpark College for the county’s annual all-star baseball game at 1 p.m.
In a departure from tradition, this year’s game features players from all Ventura County teams. In the past, players from large schools played in a Division I game and small school players were in a Division II game.
Channel Islands Coach Al Tarazon and Buena Coach Stan Hedegard will coach the West team. Calabasas Coach Rick Nathanson and Agoura Coach Bruce Beck will coach the East.
Prior to the game there will be a home-run hitting contest featuring five players from each team and a timed baserunning contest. The home run derby will begin at 11:30 a.m. Admission is free.
