Proposition 209 Stands for Equality
I’m a 19-year-old, Caucasian student at Moorpark College. I’m writing to say how I feel about Proposition 209, and its economic effects on business and people in general.
I believe it sets a precedent that stands for true equality. An equality where people can be judged by qualifications and not by race. I think anyone with a business would want the most qualified employees.
As for those who believe that minorities might not be hired, who believe that this will lead to all-white companies, this will happen sometimes but it will also happen the other way. I’m sure there will be companies with no whites. If that is how they feel their company will be most profitable that is their choice.
This is the first step to judging people by their content and ability and not by race or gender.
