UPCOMING PREP EVENTS IN ORANGE COUNTY : BOYS’ BASKETBALL

The John Wooden Classic High School Invitational today at the Pond features a triple-header, highlighted by the 7 p.m. game between Mater Dei, the county’s 10th-ranked team, and Encino Crespi. At 9:30 p.m., third-ranked Los Alamitos takes on national power Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha. The event opens with a 5:30 p.m. game between Glendora and Chino Hills Ayala.
The Bolsa Grande tournament’s championship game is Friday, and the National Sport Grill, Elks Coyote Classic, Daily Pilot Tip-Off Classic and Brethren Christian tournaments wrap up Saturday.
