Permit Renewed for La Terraza Restaurant

The owners of La Terraza Restaurant will have to buy a decibel meter to comply with the new conditions of their live entertainment permit.
The City Council voted this week to renew the permit with the condition the restaurant use a decibel meter to measure sound levels from guest bands.
The music cannot exceed 55 decibels. The council also restricted the number of musicians who play electric instruments to five at a time, but allowed La Terraza to book bands of up to 11 members who play acoustically.
La Terraza’s permit was nearly revoked in October after a series of complaints about noise and fights at the restaurant earlier in the year.
In granting the permit, the council also limited the restaurant to having a disc jockey from 8 p.m. to midnight Mondays through Thursdays and a live band or disc jockey from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays and from 8 p.m. to midnight Sundays.
La Terraza also must train its security staff.
