Police plan to give away hundreds of toys to needy children Thursday at a party in the Westside Substation.
Working with Toys for Tots, Costa Mesa Lincoln Mercury, Costa Mesa High School, the Senior Center and the Anonymous Anonymous organization--a group that makes charitable contributions veiled in anonymity--police gathered 600 toys.
About 550 people plan to attend the party at the station, Senior Officer Tim Starn said.
After the party, police personnel will deliver toys to youngsters staying at the Orange County Interfaith Shelter and Heritage House for Women and Children.
