Community College District Names Interim Chancellor

Kathleen O’Connell Hodge has been appointed acting chancellor of the South Orange County Community College District.
Hodge, 49, of San Clemente will begin Jan. 2 in place of Robert A. Lombardi, who is retiring.
Hodge began working as an instructor and counselor at Saddleback College in 1975. She is pursuing her doctorate at the University of Southern California.
“I look forward to working with Ms. Hodge as we undertake the search for our new chancellor,” board President John S. Williams said in a statement announcing the appointment.
Since 1996, Hodge has been vice chancellor of educational services and of the Emeritus Institute.
Other actions taken at the recent board meeting include the appointment of Michael G. Runyan as acting vice chancellor of educational services. Richard D. McCullough was appointed the acting president of Saddleback College.
