1 Teenager Killed, 1 Wounded in Suspected Gang Incident

A 17-year-old boy was shot to death early Monday and another was wounded in what is believed to be a gang-related incident outside a San Gabriel restaurant, authorities said.

The dead teenager, who was not identified, was shot outside the Nice Cafe in the 200 block of West Valley Boulevard shortly before 3 a.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Irving said.

He was followed out of the cafe by four or five suspects, described as men 18 to 22 years of age, Irving said.

“The suspects fired several shots at the victims from unknown types of handguns,” he said.

Irving said the first teenager, wounded several times in the upper body, died at the scene. Paramedics took the other youth, wounded once in the lower body, to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Monday, police said.

The suspects fled in a green low-riding four-door Honda with tinted windows, Irving said.
