George Jose Bautista, 19, of Santa Ana told police he was driving his silver Ford Thunderbird on the freeway around 9 p.m. Saturday when he got into a dispute with three Asian men traveling in a dark Acura Legend near Valley View Street.
One of the men in the Acura began shooting, police said. A bullet hit Bautista in the shoulder, then lodged in his neck.
Police said he was taken to an unidentified hospital where he was reported in guarded condition.
