Price Will Interview at Bakersfield

Cal State Northridge men’s volleyball Coach John Price will interview for the women’s coaching job at Cal State Bakersfield today.

Price, whose team was eliminated June 11 for budget and gender-equity reasons, said he is taking a wait-and-see approach to recent news that the program may be restored by a legislative bailout.

“Unless they can assure me that men’s volleyball will be here for more than a year, I’ve got to pursue other options,” Price said.

Bakersfield, which competes on the Division II level, has reached the national quarterfinals the past three seasons in women’s volleyball.

Bakersfield is seeking a replacement for Carl Ferreira, who was hired by Idaho.
