Re: “Blasts From the Past” (Calendar, Oct. 25). Richard Cromelin’s interview with Ray Manzarek and Exene Cervenkova was an interesting, if not a bit sad, commentary on the current state of rock ‘n’ roll in Los Angeles. X gave us some of the most vibrant music to come out of L.A. since God knows when. Los Lobos and Dave Alvin may still carry the torch, but what would be the harm in giving them a little company? One small correction, though: Ray Manzarek produced X’s first four albums, not just the first two.
