An American flag flown over the nation’s Capitol soon will hang in the Los Alamitos Historical Museum as the newest exhibit in a building that once served as a volunteer fire station.
Rep. Ed Royce (R-Fullerton) had the flag flown in Washington, D.C., on behalf of Los Alamitos in July, museum spokeswoman Liz Myers said. It will be hung from the museum rafters by Sunday.
“It’s going to be inside,” Myers said. “It was too special to put outside.”
Other displays at the museum commemorate the community’s 100th anniversary, telling the story of how the Spanish land grant became a city of 12,000 in a century.
The Los Alamitos Historical Museum is at 11062 Los Alamitos Blvd. It is open 2 to 4 p.m. Sundays and Tuesdays.
