Spooky Parade: Lucy, Ethel and Nixon

The two principals came as Lucy and Ethel, the second-grade teachers donned costumes from the “Wizard of Oz” and among the 700 students at the annual Halloween parade at Pacific Elementary School in Manhattan Beach on Friday there were dozens of superheroes, witches, princesses and a Richard Nixon look-alike.
After bobbing for apples and carving pumpkins, students strutted their costumes in front of their parents and classmates.
“They’ve been waiting for this all week,” said Co-Principal Christie Norvell, wearing a polka-dot “I Love Lucy”-style dress. “They’re all winners.”
