Paraclete Trips Up Bishop

BISHOP — Dominic Washington rushed for 217 yards and three touchdowns in 29 carries, powering Paraclete High to a 49-14 victory over Bishop Union on Friday night in a High Desert League game at Bishop Union High.
The Spirits (7-1, 3-0) scored on their first play from scrimmage on a 35-yard pass play from Sean Fraser to Jordan Aquino following Mike Hudson’s 40-yard punt return.
Paraclete took two plays to score on its second possession following Rich Caton’s fumble recovery on the Broncos’ 22-yard line.
Washington scored from seven yards to make it 14-0. He later scored on runs of six and eight yards.
The fast-paced offense continued into the third quarter as Paraclete scored twice in a two-minute span on a 46-yard pass reception by Tommy Breech and Washington’s final touchdown.
The Spirits held Bishop Union (6-2, 2-1) to 101 yards and won in Bishop for the first time since 1982.
