Gap Launches Online Store With Virtual Style

Gap Inc. customers may not travel to their local malls as often now that the clothing retailer has launched a Gap Online store. Located at https://www.gap.com, the online store will sell men’s and women’s merchandise. Customers will be able to use a Virtual Style feature, which allows shoppers to see how various articles of clothing look when combined. “With Virtual Style, we provide a virtual sales associate to help you put outfits together,” said Michael McCadden, senior vice president of Gap marketing. The San Francisco-based retailer will allow customers to order online, by fax or by phone. Prices will be the same as at its more than 1,500 stores, plus shipping and handling. Gap shares fell $1.19 to close at $55.44 on the NYSE.
