With almost daily predictions of El Nino meteorological disaster on the horizon, the city of Ventura is offering a pamphlet to residents on how to prepare for the worst.
Whether the winter brings the predicted onslaught of rain and coastal flooding or not, city officials are suggesting that residents be prepared.
The brochure contains practical information on city services and suggestions on how to prepare your home for heavy rains, mudslides or flooding.
In addition, there is information on such things as obtaining sandbags or getting government loans to fix leaky roofs or clogged rain gutters.
The brochure, “Preparing for El Nino,” is available at the City Information Agency at City Hall, 501 Poli St. For information, call 654-7850.
