Santa Ana Rallies in Second Half, Beats Irvine Valley

Santa Ana scored three goals in the second half, erasing a two-goal deficit, to beat Irvine Valley, 3-2, in Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer Tuesday at Irvine Valley.
Orlando Suazo knocked in the game-winner in the 79th minute for the Dons (8-11-2, 8-2-2) after goals by Mario Martinez and Oscar Olmedo tied the score, 2-2.
David Sabet and Long Nguyen each scored first-half goals for Irvine Valley (15-5-5, 5-3-3).
In other conference games:
Golden West 1, Cypress 0--Owen Markert scored in the 28th minute and helped Golden West win its first conference game of the season, stopping a 10-game conference losing streak.
Goalie Geno Casillas had eight saves for Golden West (2-14-4 overall).
Riverside 3, Fullerton 2--Ramiro Robles and Brian Treat scored in Fullerton’s losing effort. Fullerton is 9-8-3, 6-3-2.
In Orange Empire Conference women’ soccer:
Cypress 9, Golden West 0--Robin Schmidt scored three goals for Cypress (18-1-3, 10-0-2), which is tied for first place in the conference with Orange Coast.
Irvine Valley 4, Santa Ana 1--Nicole Trott scored two goals and Jennifer Bass and Kristin Gyurina had one each for Irvine Valley (10-7-1, 7-5).
