Cypress Needs Two Extra Holes to Win State Title

Cypress College dethroned two-time champion College of the Desert in the third annual state community college women’s golf championships Monday at Copper River Country Club in Fresno.
The teams were tied at 326 after 18 holes, but Cypress earned the victory when Elizabeth Sinclair sank a par putt on the second playoff hole. College of the Desert’s Erica Benefiel made a double-bogey on the hole.
Cypress’ Jacque Servadio was the medalist, shooting a two-over-par 74.
