1 Killed, 1 Wounded in Parking Lot Shooting

One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting outside a Long Beach liquor store, authorities said Monday.
The shooting occurred Sunday at 2 p.m. in the parking lot of a liquor store at Pacific Coast Highway and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, said Long Beach police spokeswoman Karen Kerr Owens.
Eric Avery, 29, of Long Beach, died at the scene. Denion Tillis, 28, also of Long Beach, was struck in the lower back and taken to St. Mary Medical Center, Owens said.
Witnesses saw two men fleeing from the scene but no arrests had been made. Detectives had not determined a motive for the shootings, said Owens.
