For Astronauts, It’s NASA-Style Holiday

Space shuttle Columbia’s astronauts packed plenty of turkey dinners before leaving Earth last week to celebrate Thanksgiving in high-flying style. Their holiday menu includes off-the-shelf processed turkey and dressing, canned cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Four of the six astronauts, including the lone Japanese, opted for the holiday menu. Winston Scott went with smoked turkey and Ukrainian Leonid Kadenyuk chose steak. Over on Mir, American astronaut David Wolf and his two Russian colleagues opted for smoked turkey.
