XENIA, Ohio — Two 16-year-old boys have been charged with placing a cross scrawled with racist slogans at the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center, authorities said.
The boys were charged Tuesday with delinquency counts of ethnic intimidation and menacing, a police spokesman said. Their names were withheld because of their age.
Officials at the museum in nearby Wilberforce found the cross as they arrived at work Nov. 18. Written on the partially burned 5-foot cross were the racist slogans and “KKK.”
Already accused in the case is Daniel Carter, 18, who was released on bond after pleading not guilty to misdemeanor ethnic intimidation, menacing and possessing drug paraphernalia.
