Mexico announced it was slapping compensatory tariffs of 101% on imports of U.S. red delicious and golden delicious apples, saying it had found evidence of dumping. A probe launched in March concluded that imports of the apples from the U.S. shot up last year, causing a drop in Mexican apple production, Mexico’s Trade Ministry said.
