Running Just a Day at Beach for Moorpark

Moorpark College placed three runners among the top five to finish first among 10 teams in the Ventura College Beach Run at Buenaventura State Beach on Friday.
The Raiders finished with 33 points to runner-up El Camino’s 66.
William Felicano of El Camino placed first in 21:15 on the four-mile course.
Moorpark’s Uzziel Gray and Jorge Villavicenci tied for third at 21:47, and the Raiders’ Daniel Oliva placed fifth at 21:48.
WOMEN’S CROSS-COUNTRY
Ventura College Beach Run--Elisa Cuellar placed first with a time of 20:02 over the five-kilometer course to lead Pasadena to a first-place finish. Nancy Dakenbring of Pasadena placed second at 21:58.
Jennifer Hansen of Moorpark placed sixth at 22:17. Elsa Guerrero of Ventura placed 11th at 22:53.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Cypress 5, Moorpark 0--Nicole Terry and Lori Harris each scored two goals and Tami Askey also scored for Cypress in a nonconference match at Moorpark. Goalie Stacey Williams made 15 saves for Moorpark (1-2).
St. Mary’s 3, Pepperdine 0--The Waves (1-3) outshot the Gaels, 15-10, but failed to score in the nonconference match.
