Anaheim police arrested a man and four women at a home that reportedly served as a brothel, where women brought illegally from Mexico were forced into prostitution, police said.
Neighbors complained about suspicious activity at the home in the 100 block of Tiller Avenue, Anaheim Police Sgt. Steve Walker said.
After undercover officers went there and were propositioned, they arrested Bang Thanh Bui, 25, of Garden Grove on suspicion of pimping and pandering, police announced Monday.
Sophia Calderon, 26, and Teresa Velasquez, 20, were charged on suspicion of prostitution, while Olga Salgado Hernandez, 23, and Vanesa Lopez, 20, were charged on suspicion of living in a brothel. All four are from Mexico.
Walker said the women were told they could get identification so they could work in restaurants. But they were abandoned at the Anaheim house with no money and no way to get home, Walker said.
