Gentle Dental Up 20%

YORBA LINDA — Gentle Dental Service shares climbed more than 20% Wednesday, a day after the Vancouver, Wash., company announced plans to merge with Yorba Linda-based GMS Dental Group in a stock deal valued at more than $50 million.
The stock rose $2.38 a share to $14.13 in Nasdaq trading.
The merged company, which will retain Gentle Dental’s name, will maintain executive quarters in both cities.
